Two generations came together as one last Friday to leave a lasting impact on both seniors and students.

One of many special events put on by Service Over Self (SOS), Senior Citizen Day is one that students look forward to every year.

Hundred of senior citizens come to Atlantis banquets to enjoy an exciting and different day filled with games, music, and dancing.  This year, the Senior Citizen Day theme was “Game Show.”

”I love the conversations I have with the new seniors I meet. Seniors are brutally honest and love to share about their life and what they have learned,” junior Becca Burke said.

Senior Citizen Day was filled with stories laughs and dancing. Seniors enjoy changing the pace of everyday life and getting active while having fun with high school students.

“I have gone to senior citizen day for three year now and every year I have such a good time and it’s defiantly a day that I remember and look forward too,” Burke said.

The student that participate in this event put a lot of work into making the day great for the seniors.

“Every year I see one woman I had at my table freshman year, and she is always so excited to talk to me and she remembers everything. I think its so amazing that from one day friendships between generations are made,” Burke said.
