Junior Ryan Kreie often represents the Huskies on the pitching mound, wearing number 29.

“I’ve been playing baseball ever since I was in third grade. I watched major league ball and really wanted to do that. My favorite player is Kris Bryant because he’s a stud,” Kreie said.

After a recent rough season, Kreie hopes the team will improve in the upcoming games this year.

“I’m looking forward to a better season this year, our offense has definitely been getting better because we took a trip to Tennessee over spring break and we were looking a lot better,” Kreie said. “Our pitching has been solid, but the offense is something we need to get going because it means giving free runs to the other team.”

Even through the intensity of every game, the Kreie and the team manage to find some traditional humor and fun off the field.

“My favorite thing about the games are the chants we do in the dugout trying to distract the other team’s pitcher,” Kreie said.

Kreie is one of the starting pitchers and throws 86 miles per hour on average. He hopes to continue baseball after high school.

“I don’t know what I want to do yet, but I want to keep playing in college,” Kreie said.
