On Nov. 24 founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, became the newest $100 billionaire. Over the past year his net worth rose over $33 billion, and in doing so Bezos became the first person since Bill Gates in 1999 to reach the 12-figure net worth.

“It is unfathomable that one person can have that much money,” senior Alyson Ceisel said.
At age 53, Bezos is a relatively young billionaire. According to Forbes’ top ten richest people, Bezos is the second youngest among them, behind Mark Zuckerberg.

Bezos is just beginning his philanthropic causes. In June, Bezos posted a tweet asking for long term ideas and strategies for charity.
“He should start his own charity and put money into different research projects,” Ceisel said.
