Many spring sports seasons are starting up, including tennis, baseball, soccer, and gymnastics.

Junior Matt Bednar has been a gymnast for almost his whole life. He strives to succeed as well as he can for the sport he loves. This year he has total faith in his team and is confident they will go far.

“This season is going to be an exciting one, as a team I strongly believe we have a good chance to do amazing and qualify for state as a team,” Bednar said.

He feels very strongly about his team and is excited about their future.

“The best feeling in the sport isn’t necessarily doing the flips and twist, it’s to achieve a goal with some of the closest people I know and to be proud of it,” Bednar said.

He hopes to continue his career and is determined to succeed.

“When it comes to college it’s weird. I would love to be on a varsity team at a school with a varsity team. However, most schools I want to attend only have a club team which is like high school gymnastics, and they still travel and compete against other schools around the country,” Bednar said.

He wants to see others succeed in his challenging sport.

“Gymnastics is what I find to be the hardest sport in the world due to the mental and physical stress it does on yourself, so to say that you’ve tried and succeeded at the hardest if not one of the hardest sports in the world is something I’m proud of,” Bednar said.

He is very proud of sport and would love to see others succeed as he has.
