The internet, while being a valuable resource, can become incredibly toxic and destructive. The anonimity the internet provides allows people to act however they want without consequence, giving others a false sense of invincibility.

This results in many people posting inappropriate or derogatory content without considering the effect it has on others or their own reputations.

Whether it be on social media or similar sites, students should be aware of what they post online, regardless of how “anonymous” they appear to be.

This is even more important for students specifically, as colleges often look into their applicant’s social media and internet activity.

Instead of using the internet to vent out negative emotions or post personal information, students should instead take greater awareness to what they post and its effect on others.
