The food drive is one of the most charitable traditions here. Students and the entire community are extremely generous with collecting and donating food.

However, one cannot deny the food drive has more than just a charitable aspect. Inter-classroom competition drives students to try their best to collect the most cans for their respective second hour classes.

The most notable case of this is seen by Christina Athanasopoulos’s second hour class. “We raised 10,118 cans total,” junior and member of the winning class Sean Paton said. “I view it as more of a charity although the competition I think is what motivates a lot of people to do their best,” Paton said.
